He was FANTASTIC for us. All that generation of youth players had so much hype about them, was so exciting supporting us then (regardless of where we tended to finish)
How old was he when he scored at Old Trafford? 18-19?
Club legend, as others have said should have stayed with us longer, surprising he never played for any of the "big clubs"

I have nothing but respect for JD, and I'm too old to hold grudges over what a kid did almost two decades ago.
He showed the man he was when he was when he was there for young Bradley Lowery and the family. And unlike other professionals who do things for the camera, his bond with that kid was genuine.
Enjoy retirement, Jermaine. 👍⚒

He was 26 when he left Tottenham for Portsmouth
Went back to Tottenham and left for Toronto when he was early 30's
We should have bought him in either of those moves or before he went to Sunderland.
Missed opportunities when you think of some of the drips we bought as 'strikers' instead

Met his cousin at The Firestation pub in Waterloo once. Very cute . Married to Millwall though .
Biggest fuck up Eriksson made not taking him in 2006 to the WC and taking Walcott instead. Especially after Owen’s injury . Recon we would have won it with him

Had a brilliant career, a proper natural goalscorer. Fell short of dining at the top table, i.e Owen, Fowler, Lineker etc, but the boy did good.

Probably not how he'd want to be remembered, but I'll remember him as a rat faced weasel cunt that kicked the West Ham supporters in the nuts while they were on the floor.
Very good goal scorer though.

Mind is a bit hazy but lots of ups and downs with us if I recall:
Brilliant as a kid and formed good partnership with Di Canio and scored big goals - remember goals against Man Utd both home and away.
His transfer request was very Paul Ince but has since tried to defend it.
Local lad from Poplar (i think) and family were West Ham fans. Wasn’t his mum his agent / manager and apparently tough when negotiating with Harry.
Was there a game where he got himself deliberately sent off when we were in the championship? West Brom? Felt at time a way
of forcing a move .
His move to Tottenham with Zamora coming to us was great for all parties.
Not sure if England stats but never felt he played as much as he should have? A classic goal scorer. What we would do to have him back as a youngster now.

He was sent off 3 times in his last 14 games for us having never been sent off previously
One was Gillingham away which I dont recall
Another was Walsall where I think someone ran into him and it was a ludicrous decision.
The other was a 3-0 up lose 4-3 game v WBA where he slid in to block a clearance and caught the defender .... not usually a red in those day
He scored 11 goals in those 14 games.
